Who am I?
I am Brian Richardson, and I am passionate about helping
people overcome the hurdles and obstacles in their life.
I believe people can uncover the way forward to their
best life, but sometimes need some help on the way. I am
well-trained as I hold a National Certified Peer
Specialist Certification, a Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology, a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling, and
am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt
Therapy, and trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I
am also a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed
Professional Counselor. Who Do I work with? I am
passionate about helping adolescents, adults, and
elderly in individual, family, and couples counseling
with a focus on Depressive and Bi-polar Disorders. How
Can You Help Me? My approaches to counseling include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Dialectical
Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness
Meditation, Psycho-Education, and Dual Diagnosis
counseling. I use a Rogerian (focus is on you and your
experiences) approach towards attaining stable mental
health and wellness. I believe an eclectic set of skills
are best used to achieve and maintain a high quality of
life. These approaches and skills come together in a
powerful way: I stay focused on you, your goals, and
your path forward. My use of a variety of skills and my
training and experience lets me find the most effective
tools to help you find the freedom to be the person you
want to be.
